We’re delighted to announce that registration is now open for the 2018 Technical Managers in Universities (TMU) national conference (12th-13th April 2018) hosted by the University of Nottingham in the city of Robin Hood, Nottingham Forest and Trent Bridge!
This year’s conference theme is “The Changing Landscape for Technical Managers”.

We have a packed programme for you which includes a keynote presentation from Sir Martyn Poliakoff, famed Chemistry professor and star of the Periodic Videos (www.periodicvideos.com) and a presentation from UKRI, (the new name for the Research Councils as from April 1st) on their forthcoming Action Plan for Technical Researchers which is due to be published later this year. Workshop sessions include Health and Safety, Apprenticeships, Strategies for Technical Services, Mental Health, Athena SWAN & Technicians, Passive House (Energy Efficiency in Buildings) and more. A further keynote presentation will be given by Professor Pete Licence on the award winning Centre for Sustainable Chemistry – housed in the brand new Carbon Neutral Laboratory, the first of its kind in the UK.
As always, registration is free and available via the Eventbrite link below. As this is a free event, there are limited places so please do register as soon as possible.
The main programme will run on Thursday 12th April and the morning of Friday 13th April. A conference dinner will take place on the evening of the 12th.
This is a great opportunity to meet with colleagues old and new and to learn more about the changing landscape for our profession. We look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham in the Spring.
